MISSEN Joy We are sad to announce the death of Joy Missen, at The Yelverton Nursing Home, on 28th November, aged 84. She died peacefully in her sleep, after a brief battle with cancer. Widow of Keith, beloved mother of Avril and Andrew, mother-in-law to Robert and Pam, grandmother to Alex, sister to Ron and sister-in-law to Ruth. Joy spent many years as home tutor and teacher in the children's ward (Ward 5) at Freedom Fields Hospital in Plymouth until the 1980's. She was also wife of Keith, minister at Salisbury Road Baptist Church in the 1960's and 70's. The family would like to thank sincerely all the staff at The Yelverton Nursing Home for their love and care above and beyond the bounds of duty to make Joy as comfortable as possible in her final illness. No flowers, but any donations made payable to The Yelverton Nursing Home and sent to Walter Parson, Funeral Directors, The Firs, 702 Budshead Road, Crownhill, Plymouth PL6 5DY Private family funeral only.
